The db Seabank Resort + Spa is honoured to receive the recognition from TripAdvisor, as one of the Top 10 All-Inclusive Resorts in Europe, specifically at the 8th place.

This award - 2014 Travelers’ Choice TripAdvisor Award - is a recognition given by the db Seabank guests who reviewed it on their own initiative. The db Seabank Resort was already amongst the top 25 All-Inclusive Resorts in Europe, placing at number 17, while this year the resort occupies the 8th place, which brings it amongst the Top 10 in Europe.

TripAdvisor is the world’s most renowned and sought after travel websites. Its ratings are closely followed by both travellers and tourism industry operators since they are compiled exclusively from the views of the millions of clients themselves.

Silvio Debono, Chairman db Hotels + Resorts, said, “This award is the result of the hard work that the management and all our staff have put in, to always put our clients first. It is also a testimonial of the abilities of Maltese staff, abilities with which they are now competing successfully on a continental level.”

The Minister for Tourism Dr. Edward Zammit Lewis said that the Maltese tourism sector has matured over the years and we have experienced unprecedented progress.  This a great accomplishment for the Seabank Resort & Spa to classify in the top 10 for the All-Inclusive Resorts in Europe on Trip Advisor and a bigger achievement for Malta as a quality tourism destination.

Robert Arrigo, Shadow Minister for Tourism said, “This rating was always on the cards and it certainly widens the range of Malta’s hotel choices. Silvio Debono had told me about his long term vision for the db Seabank and now this is the great result. In the past the all-Inclusive niche market tended to be ignored. This result shows that it is time to rethink and from what I see this result is just the beginning. I therefore offer my compliments and thanks to the db Seabank.”

The Malta Tourism Authority CEO, Mr Paul Bugeja said “ the recent €32 million refurbishment project of the db Seabank Resort & Spa is already reaping rewards as can be seen by this award presented by TripAdvisor as the 8th best All-inclusive Resort in Europe. It is with great satisfaction that the db Seabank Resort & Spa has been awarded this achievement as there is clearly an increase in demand for this type of all-inclusive accommodation in our main markets.  In this regard the demand for this particular product offering is being met, thus making our Islands more appealing most especially for family Holidays.”.

Andrew Agius Muscat, CEO at the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association congratulated the management at db Seabank Resort and stated that "In today's dynamic international tourism and travel markets customers' reviews of their experience on on-line and social media reflect a true benchmark for quality and if positive gives a destination or an accommodation competitive advantage.  The achievement marked by db Seabank Resort is outstanding and supports our call that quality ultimately pays back not just to the investor but more significantly to the economy in general."

Vincent Degiorgio, Director, db Hotels + Resorts said, “We knew that the All-Inclusive concept, a new one to Malta would bring with it massive risks. We also knew that to implement the concept we needed to invest around €40 million, and to do so in the middle of the global financial crisis. We faced these challenges and here we are 3 years later being ranked the 8th Best All-Inclusive Resort in Europe.”

Hubert Debono, General Manager db Seabank Resort + Spa, expressed his  satisfaction with this prestigious award, being classified amongst the Top10 after only a year of being amongst the Top 20. He also mentioned that in the last year the resort welcomed over 50,000 guests who spent over 350,000 nights at the resort and were served over 1.5million meals.
