Posted on: March 09, 2016 8 Medals & 6 Merits awarded during the Malta Kulinarja 2016 Competition For the first time, 11 members of db San Antonio Hotel + Spa chefs participated in this year’s Malta Kulinarja, Cookery and Culnary Arts Championships 2016. Competing against 5 star hotel chefs, the db San Antonio team of chefs succeeded to scoop up 3 Silver medals, 5 Bronze & 6 Merits in various categories. Bradley Dingli, General Manager of db San Antonio Hotel + Spa said, “We are very proud of our team of chefs who managed to excel so much. Across the categories, monitored and evaluated by an international panel of judges, the db San Antonio Hotel & Spa chefs have used their skills and utmost passion to create some exceptional dishes and static displays. This recognition of their work fills us with courage and determination to continue working hard to deliver the best service.” This bi-annual event is organised by the Malta Chefs Society in which trainees, kitchen artists and chefs from some of Malta's top restaurants and hotels demonstrate their skills. Besides bringing together chefs and other professionals, working, studying, or otherwise active in the catering industry, the aim of the Malta Chef's Society is to stimulate greater interest and create higher standards in the culinary sector in Malta and Gozo.
